Today marks the start of the Annual BIO International Convention. It is one of the world's largest biotechnology conferences. More than 16,000 biotechnology and pharmaceutical leaders are expected to be in attendance. You can find Capital City Innovation Executive Director, Chris Laing, among them. Give him a tweet to say hello!
Organized by The Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute(THBI), in collaboration with The Office of the Governor and Texas Economic Development Corporation(TxEDC), find Capital City Innovation alongside more than 30 other communities and companies at the Texas Healthcare Pavillion at booth #2121.
Tom Kowalski, President and CEO of THBI said, "The BIO International Convention offers Texas a world stage to showcase our state’s strengths in biomedical science, biotechnology, agriculture and medical device innovation."
Texas has more than 5,000 life science and research firms and approximately 100,000 workers in other related fields. Austin is uniquely positioned to support individuals and companies innovating in the HealthTech space. With the establishment of Dell Medical School - the first new medical school to be built at a Tier-1 research university in nearly 50 years – a booming tech startup scene, and abundant natural resources, it's easy to see that #AustinInnovates.
For more information on how you can be a part Austin's Emerging Innovation District stop by the pavilion or email Claing@capitalcityinnovation.org to set up a meeting.
